The Ugandan embassy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is one of 224 foreign representations in the United Arab Emirates, one of 139 foreign representations in the city of Abu Dhabi, and one of many Ugandan diplomatic and consular representations located abroad.
Uganda’s embassy in Abu Dhabi is the sole Ugandan representation located in the United Arab Emirates. The United Arab Emirates also maintains an embassy in Kampala. The Uganda Embassy in Abu Dhabi was established in 2007 with the primary objective of promoting good relations between the two countries and enhancement of commercial and economic diplomacy.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2007, both countries have maintained robust and evolving ties. Uganda opened its Embassy in Abu Dhabi in 2007, while the UAE embassy was opened in Kampala in 2011
The Mission is also accredited by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

When is the embassy open?
The embassy is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Fridays. It is closed on weekends and public holidays for both Uganda in the United Arab Emirates and Uganda

ACCREDITED ORGANIZATIONS
An accredited organization is one to which a diplomatic mission is assigned responsibility for representing its home country’s interests, even if it is not physically located there. This arrangement allows a single embassy to manage diplomatic relations with multiple organizations. The Embassy of Uganda in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), is responsible for managing Uganda’s diplomatic relations not only with the UAE but also with several other countries and international organizations. Below is an overview of the countries and organizations to which the Embassy of Uganda in Abu Dhabi is accredited.
United Arab Emirates (UAE): As the host country, the UAE is the primary focus of the embassy’s activities. The embassy manages Uganda’s bilateral relations with the UAE, emphasizing political engagement, economic cooperation, trade and investment, tourism promotion, cultural exchanges, and providing consular services for Ugandan nationals residing in or visiting the UAE.
The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is an intergovernmental organization established to foster cooperation, enhance knowledge, and promote the adoption and sustainable use of renewable energy worldwide. It is unique as the first international organization exclusively dedicated to renewable energy, addressing the needs of both industrialized and developing nations. IRENA was founded in 2009, with its statute coming into effect on July 8, 2010. The agency is based in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi. Francesco La Camera, an Italian national, currently serves as the Director-General of IRENA. Additionally, IRENA holds the status of an official observer at the United Nations.
