Artificial intelligence is transforming classrooms and workplaces, and Victoria University is set to place the technology at the centre of its 10th Graduation Ceremony as it examines how higher education can prepare graduates for an evolving world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The landmark ceremony will take place on October 19 and 20 at Speke Resort Convention Centre in Munyonyo, Kampala, under the theme, \u201c<\/strong>The Future Is High.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event marks a decade of Victoria University\u2019s contribution to higher education, with the institution highlighting experiential learning and work-integrated learning as key elements of its approach to preparing graduates for employment, entrepreneurship and the global economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The university\u2019s Board of Directors, University Council and Top Management described the 10th graduation as an important milestone in the institution\u2019s journey of transforming higher education and preparing market-ready leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Julius Bukyana, Corporate and Public Relations Manager at Victoria University, said the ceremony will provide an opportunity to examine the growing influence of technology on education and professional life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn the era of work-integrated learning and artificial intelligence, this year\u2019s graduation ceremony is destined to zoom in on technological advances in education,\u201d<\/em> Bukyana said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said universities must equip students with practical knowledge and the flexibility to respond to developments that are reshaping the world of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The emphasis on AI comes as emerging technologies increasingly influence how knowledge is delivered, professional tasks are performed and new skills are developed. For higher education institutions, the shift presents a need to ensure that graduates can combine academic knowledge with practical application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Victoria University has sought to address this gap through experiential and work-integrated learning, giving students opportunities to connect classroom learning with real-world experience. The approach also supports preparation for entrepreneurship and participation in an increasingly interconnected economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 10th graduation will consequently serve two purposes: celebrating the academic achievements of students and creating space for reflection on the direction of higher education in an era of rapid technological change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
