The affected areas included Mbale City, Nakaloke, Baradari, Bududa, Manafwa, Buwalasi, Sironko Town Council, Buyombo, and surrounding villages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement released on Thursday, Mr. Jonan Kiiza, UEDCL\u2019s Head of Corporate and Stakeholder Affairs, announced the successful completion of the repair works and the safe energisation of the Mbale substation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to inform our customers in Mbale and the greater Bugisu area that electricity supply has been fully restored. Our technical teams worked tirelessly to identify, repair, and safely energise the affected substation to ensure a stable and secure power supply,\u201d said Mr. Kiiza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He commended the patience and cooperation of customers during the outage period, noting that the team\u2019s priority was to ensure safety and reliability before reactivating the power lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The technical fault at the Mbale substation had disrupted supply to a wide area of eastern Uganda, affecting both residential users and commercial establishments. Local traders, small industries, and service providers had expressed concern over the interruption, citing financial losses and disruptions in daily operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the restoration now complete, UEDCL has assured customers of continued efforts to strengthen the electricity distribution network and prevent future disruptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur commitment remains to provide reliable and consistent power supply to all our customers. We are investing in maintenance, rapid response, and modernisation to enhance service delivery across all regions,\u201d Mr. Kiiza added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company further urged any customers who may still be experiencing localised outages to report their individual cases immediately.
