The Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) has been honoured as the Government Employer of the Year for 2024\/2025. The award was presented by the Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE) during a ceremony held on September 11 at Mestil Hotel, Kampala, celebrating positive employer-employee relations across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UPPC received the accolade in the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) category. The award was handed over by Mr. Aggrey Kibenge, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development, and accepted on behalf of UPPC by Mr. Andrew Senabulya, Director of Research, Innovation, Investigation, and Finance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his remarks, Professor Sudi Nangoli, UPPC Managing Director, highlighted the critical role employees play in the corporation\u2019s achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n

Employees are our first stakeholders. Without them, customer satisfaction and retention would not be possible,\u201d Prof. Nangoli said. \u201cOur commitment to efficient, reliable, and quality service starts with our staff. We are dedicated to building trust and supporting their professional and financial growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Opio Joseph Okurut, Director of Internal Operations, described the award as a recognition of UPPC\u2019s dedication to excellence, innovation, and service delivery. \u201cIt is a testament to our hardworking team, whose resilience has made this achievement possible,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recognition adds to a string of recent accolades for UPPC, including Best Publisher of the Year at the KACITA Quality Awards and a Visionaries Award within the past 18 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Betty Ajambo, UPPC Corporate Secretary, noted that the award reflects the corporation\u2019s strong human resource focus, including job creation, talent management, and employee engagement. She highlighted that the workforce has grown from 71 to over 200 employees, providing opportunities particularly for youth in Entebbe and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key initiatives contributing to the recognition include staff wellness programmes, career skills’ development, team-building activities such as sports and financial literacy training, and a staff association celebrating personal milestones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe award has boosted morale and reinforced high standards,\u201d Ms. Ajambo said. \u201cFor the public and other government agencies, it signals that UPPC is back on top as a reliable and dependable corporation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead, UPPC plans to maintain open communication with staff, enhance workplace policies, and promote continuous development and cross-departmental collaboration. The corporation advises other MDAs aiming for similar recognition to focus on effective mandate delivery, staff consultation, and inclusive decision-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UPPC is a government-owned entity responsible for security and general printing and publishing services, including serving as the official publisher of the Uganda Gazette, the government\u2019s newspaper for official public communications.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
