{"id":3842,"date":"2025-04-10T20:56:42","date_gmt":"2025-04-10T20:56:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/govinfohub.go.ug\/?p=3842"},"modified":"2025-04-10T20:59:06","modified_gmt":"2025-04-10T20:59:06","slug":"ministry-of-finance-releases-99-of-budgeted-funds-for-fy-2024-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/govinfohub.go.ug\/index.php\/2025\/04\/10\/ministry-of-finance-releases-99-of-budgeted-funds-for-fy-2024-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Ministry of Finance Releases 99% of Budgeted Funds for FY 2024\/2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.finance.go.ug\/\">Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development <\/a>has released 99% of the funds budgeted for the financial year 2024\/2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This follows the final quarterly release of 19.79 trillion shillings\u201425.64% of the revised 77.196 trillion-shilling budget\u2014bringing the total released to 76.422 trillion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The fourth quarter expenditure limits were based on the quarterly work and procurement plans of government ministries, departments, and agencies, taking into account projected resource inflows,&#8221; said Ramathan Ggoobi, Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He instructed accounting officers to ensure timely payment of salaries, pensions, and gratuities by the 28th of every month, in line with approved salary scales. He also warned against accumulating domestic arrears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTo avoid arrears and penalties, officers must prioritize timely payments to service providers and refrain from making commitments without sufficient budget,\u201d Ggoobi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rationalization of Agencies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ggoobi confirmed that Parliament approved the full transfer of budget functions under the government rationalization program, and related funds have been released. \u201cThere should be no gap in service delivery,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fourth Quarter Releases (April\u2013June 2025)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>8.903 trillion<\/strong>: Wage, non-wage recurrent, and development projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2.677 trillion<\/strong>: External financing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>8.126 trillion<\/strong>: Debt and treasury operations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>83.85 billion<\/strong>: Local revenue<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Statutory Obligations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1.993 trillion<\/strong>: Government wages and salaries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>288.7 billion<\/strong>: Pension and gratuities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>172.64 billion<\/strong>: Parliament<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>94.222 billion<\/strong>: Electoral Commission<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>58.23 billion<\/strong>: Judiciary<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>17.46 billion<\/strong>: Auditor General<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>11.17 billion<\/strong>: National Planning Authority<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ATMS Growth Strategy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry emphasized strategic programs under ATMS, aimed at transforming Uganda into a $500 billion economy in 15 years.
