Jinja Civil Service College

Established in 2010, Jinja Civil Service College is dedicated to building the capacities of public service institutions and human resources to improve performance and service delivery to citizens. The College addresses critical performance challenges within Uganda’s public service, playing a vital role in revitalizing its ethos. Its mandated to enhance the capabilities of public service institutions and personnel, ensuring improved performance in service delivery.

Strategic Direction

  • Mandatory Training Programs: Implementing a requirement for all public officers to complete CSCU training as a prerequisite for career progression.
  • Increasing Visibility and Resource Leverage:
    • Executing a robust Communication and Marketing Strategy.
    • Fostering collaborations and partnerships to maximize resources and adopt best practices.
  • Technologically Enabled Learning: Creating an advanced learning environment that utilizes modern technology.
  • Public Policy Research and Innovation: Operationalizing an institutional framework to enhance civil service performance through research and innovation.
  • Expansion Projects: Constructing Phase II of the College, featuring:
    • 300-bed accommodation facility
    • 500-seat auditorium
    • Cafeteria and additional training rooms
    • Recreation facilities and a resource center

Through these strategic initiatives, Jinja Civil Service College aims to transform Uganda’s public service landscape, equipping personnel with the skills and resources necessary for effective governance and community service.
