The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has celebrated its women staff in the spirit of Women’s Month under the theme “Empowered Women. Stronger Institutions.”
The celebration underscored the role of women in strengthening families, institutions, and the nation.
“When women rise, institutions grow stronger, more resilient, and more impactful,” the Bureau noted in its message.
Guest speaker Hajjat Sharifah Buzeki, Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), delivered an inspiring call to action.
“The world is not always kind to women, so we go the extra mile. We must uplift, unite, and lead with purpose,” she said, urging women to believe in themselves and support one another.
The Registrar General, Mercy K. Kainobwisho, praised the resilience and brilliance of women.
“Women are gifted, steadfast, and central to shaping our nation. From influencing decisions to leading change, women continue to show up and make a difference every day,” she said.
Buzeki extended appreciation to URSB for advancing its mandate in business formalisation, civil registration, and intellectual property protection.
“Your professionalism, resilience, and integrity are building stronger institutions and transforming lives across Uganda,” she said.
She also highlighted collaboration between KCCA and URSB through the Taxpayer Register Expansion Program (TREP), which has enhanced service delivery and boosted city revenues.
She reaffirmed the commitment to mentor the next generation of women leaders. “When women rise, institutions rise, and when institutions rise, the nation prospers,” she emphasized.
The event concluded with a call to celebrate, empower, and honour women not only during Women’s Month but throughout the year, recognizing their role as drivers of inclusive, resilient, and people‑centred institutions.
