The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) has released its dissemination calendar for completed surveys and census reports, reaffirming its commitment to providing high-quality official statistics to support evidence-based planning and decision-making across the country.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Executive Director, UBOS Spokesperson Didacus Okoth announced that the next major publication will be the Uganda Malaria Indicator Survey (UMIS) Report 2025, which is scheduled for release on12 March 2026.

Okoth noted that the forthcoming reports will play a critical role in informing national policy, guiding private sector investment, and strengthening informed public debate. According to him, the statistics generated from the surveys provide reliable data that supports government planning and monitoring of Uganda’s development priorities.

“The reports provide critical insights that help policymakers, development partners, researchers and the private sector make informed decisions,” he said.

The release calendar outlines several important publications covering social, economic and demographic indicators. Following the release of the Uganda Malaria Indicator Survey report, UBOS will publish the Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children (OVC) Census Monograph 2024 – Volume 4on19 March 2026. This report will provide detailed statistics on the status and welfare of vulnerable children in the country.

On 26 March 2026, the bureau will release the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) Census Monograph 2024 – Volume 5, which will present comprehensive data on poverty levels across multiple indicators such as education, health and living standards. The MPI report is expected to help policymakers better understand the nature and distribution of poverty in Uganda.

Further reports will be released in April. The Baseline Education Census (BEC) Report 2025 is scheduled for publication on 9 April 2026, providing updated data on the education sector, including school infrastructure, enrolment patterns and learning resources.

This will be followed by the Labour Market Survey Report 2025, set for release on 16 April 2026, which will highlight trends in employment, unemployment and labour force participation in Uganda.

UBOS will also release the National Human Resource (Manpower) Survey Report 2025 on 23 April 2026. The survey is expected to provide detailed insights into the country’s workforce, including skills availability and gaps within different sectors of the economy.

On 30 April 2026, the bureau will publish the Uganda Aquaculture Census (UAC) Report 2025, which will provide statistics on fish farming activities, production levels and the role of aquaculture in supporting livelihoods and food security.

The final release in the calendar will be the Uganda Harmonised Indicator Survey (UHIS) Reports, scheduled for7 May 2026. These will include findings fromWave I and II (2021–2024) as well as Wave III 2025, offering a broad range of socio-economic indicators that track household welfare and development outcomes across the country.

UBOS confirmed that all the reports will be made available to the public on their respective release dates through the bureau’s official website.

The statement announcing the dissemination calendar was formally signed by Chris N. Mukiza, the Executive Director and Chief Statistician of UBOS, underscoring the bureau’s commitment to producing credible and reliable statistics.

Okoth reiterated that UBOS remains dedicated to strengthening Uganda’s development agenda through the production of accurate and timely data. He emphasised that the bureau’s work contributes significantly to transparency, accountability and effective national planning. He further encouraged policymakers, researchers, development partners and members of the public to actively utilise the forthcoming reports to inform their work and support evidence-based decision-making in Uganda.
