The Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) participated in the Rotary Cancer Run 2025 on Sunday, August 31, joining thousands of Ugandans and well-wishers in a national effort to raise awareness and funds for cancer treatment.
The Rotary Cancer Run, launched in 2012, has become one of Uganda’s leading charity events. It mobilises individuals, companies, and civil society organisations to support the fight against cancer. Proceeds from the event contribute to the construction and equipping of cancer treatment facilities, including the installation of two linear accelerator (LINAC) radiotherapy machines at a new bunker at Nsambya Hospital. This development is expected to significantly improve access to advanced cancer treatment in Uganda.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, UPPC contributed 200 participation kits and mobilised its staff to take part in the run across different locations. According to UPPC Public Relations Officer, Mutenyo Marvin, the corporation’s support reflects its commitment to public health and community well-being.
In addition to health, UPPC’s CSR initiatives focus on education and community development. By engaging in events such as the Rotary Cancer Run, the organisation aims to promote preventive healthcare practices, raise awareness about cancer, and strengthen national efforts to reduce the disease’s impact.
UPPC has pledged to continue supporting initiatives that address community needs, using both its organisational resources and its national platforms to advance social and health-related causes.
